Westside Sports Chiro (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy covers this website. It does not replace the privacy notices you receive as a patient at the clinic.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, phone number, email address and the message you choose to send.
- Phone and email: whatever you tell us when you call or write to the clinic.
- Website use (only if you accept cookies): pages visited, links clicked, approximate location, device and browser information, and identifiers stored in cookies.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider records basic request data, such as IP address and time, to run and secure the site.
Please do not put sensitive health information into the contact form. If you need to tell us about your condition, wait until your appointment or call us.
Online bookings
When you book online you are taken to our booking system, Cliniko, which collects your details under its own privacy policy and ours. Cliniko is where your patient record is created.
How we use information
- To reply to enquiries and arrange appointments.
- To run, secure and improve the website.
- To measure how people find and use the site, and how well our advertising works, where you have accepted cookies.
- To meet legal and professional obligations.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
With your permission we use Google Tag Manager to load measurement tools that may include Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. They use cookies and similar technologies to count visits, understand which pages and links are used, and measure and improve advertising. We do not load them for measurement or advertising until you choose “Accept” on the cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on and manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings.
Who we share information with
- Service providers that run our website, email and booking system (for example Cloudflare, Cliniko and our email provider).
- Analytics and advertising providers such as Google and Meta, if you accept cookies.
- Regulators, courts and other parties where the law requires or permits it.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle information appropriately.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Contact form messages are kept in our business email and are deleted when no longer needed.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us a question about this policy, by contacting us. If you have a complaint, tell us first and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
