Chiropractic care is a hands-on approach to diagnosing and treating problems of the joints, muscles and nervous system, most commonly pain in the spine and limbs.

At Westside Sports Chiro that care is built around active people, but the same approach suits anyone whose pain is getting in the way of work, sport or sleep.

Chiropractor assessing a patient

What a visit looks like

  • A conversation about your symptoms, history and goals
  • A physical examination of the painful area and the joints and muscles around it
  • A clear explanation of what we found and what we recommend
  • Treatment, if it is appropriate, at the same visit
  • Exercises and advice to take away

Techniques we may use

Not every patient needs every technique. Depending on the problem we may use spinal and joint adjustment, soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, IASTM, dry needling or shockwave therapy, always alongside exercise and activity advice.

What it can and cannot do

Chiropractic care is well suited to many mechanical musculoskeletal problems, such as back pain, neck pain, some headaches and joint and tendon pain. It is not a replacement for medical care, and it is not the right answer for every condition. If we think you need a GP, imaging or a specialist, we will tell you and help you get there.

Why athletes use it

People who train hard tend to load the same tissues repeatedly. Regular assessment can pick up restrictions and imbalances early, and treatment can help you keep training while an injury settles. We work with your sport and season in mind rather than offering the same plan to everyone.
